and sublime land.
Over the centuries the Salento area was a much frequented
location, races and tribes inter-mixed, civilisations
and cultures merged. Every site, every landscape,
every alley relates a special story...
THE HISTORY OF CIVILISATION
Salento is the middle earth, a corner of paradise,
the land of the two seas, of homely persons, genuine
and cheerful, the land of the sun, wind and sea, where
art, culture, traditions and gastronomy intertwine.
A land having nothing missing: clear sea, long and
white beaches, but also having high cliffs, a coast
enriched by beautiful caves, a hinterland enriched
by century-old olive trees and precious vineyards,
by old farms and rubble walls. Cities having baroque
lace, little centres heated by the warmth of the leccese
stone, archeological areas full of evidence to give.
It is impossible to get bored in the land of the "Taranta
Night", where music, dance and traditions reach
their apex. In the land where all throughout the year
the little squares of the many communes are animated
by the thousands of holy, patronal feasts, musical
and theatrical events.
